Drax donates supplies to help the Ester Gallow Community Garden in Monroe | KTVE

MONROE, La. (KTVE/KARD) — Drax announced on Monday, September 12, 2022, that they donated wheelbarrows, garden composters, and a variety of gardening tools to help a community to bloom through a new community garden project in Monroe, La.

The Ester Gallow Community Garden is a public garden that will be a collaborative space for seniors at Booker T. Senior Village and children at Roy Neal Shelling Elementary School. The garden will offer volunteers an opportunity to plant their own seasonal vegetables as well as provide an inclusive place to socialize and connect with others.

The land for the community garden was donated by Monroe resident Christopher Davis, whose late mother, Ester Gallow, was passionate about helping the community and was influential in establishing the Booker T. Senior Village located next to the garden.

Stacey Bendet On Alice + Olivia’s 20th Anniversary and Matching Fashion to Home Decor

Alice + Olivia hosted the ultimate house party for New York Fashion Week.

The brand, which turned 20 this year, presented its spring-summer ’23 line Saturday night, matching all of the collection’s looks with interiors. Titled “House of Alice + Olivia,” the line was presented using various vibrantly decorated rooms of a home, like bedrooms, hallways, the garden and more. The presentation used vignettes designed to resemble “Wonderland”-esque rooms within a home, complete with “ladies of the house” donning fashions to match.

Home Hardware and FlipGive Launch Fall Grant Program to Help Keep Kids in the Game

ST. Home Depot volunteers transform housing for homeless veterans

The Home Depot Foundation on Wednesday teamed up with the Housing Authority of Salt Lake City to revamp two permanent supportive housing facilities for men and women, including more than 150 veterans, experiencing homelessness.

More than 600 volunteers led by Team Depot, The Home Depot’s associate volunteer force, split up across the two properties — Freedom Landing and Sunrise Metro — to revamp the outdoor areas and give those who live there more comfortable and enjoyable places to spend their time.

Volunteers painted the exterior of the buildings, installed a serenity garden and raised garden beds, planted trees, built a grilling area, assembled furniture, and installed custom seating and shade structures. They will also installed new fencing, created a dog park and built 50-plus dog and cat beds for the people who live there.

Two permanent supportive housing facilities in Salt Lake City got a face-lift Wednesday, thanks to efforts from hundreds of volunteers.

The Home Depot Foundation teamed up with the Housing Authority of Salt Lake City to spruce up Freedom Landing Apartments, 1900 W. North Temple, and Sunrise Metro Apartments, 580 S. 500 West.

Together, the complexes serve more than 200 people, including 150-plus veterans at risk of or experiencing homelessness.
